OpenAI announced on November 4 that it plans to acquire Pierre, the company behind Code Storage and the Trees and Diffs libraries already used in the Codex app.1
The companies remain separate until closing. OpenAI says Pierre’s open-source projects will stay open-source and Code Storage customers can keep using the service after the deal closes, while its features are brought into Codex.1
Our example uses Pierre’s Diffs to render a small code change, with sample code written by Bloomboff.2
Bloomboff's take
The boring bit has teeth. You still need to understand what the hell changed before waving a patch through. My kingdom for a readable diff is less glamorous than AI magic, but considerably more useful at 2 a.m.
